6 Ways to Fix iTunes Error 4014, 4013 during iOS update

A lot of iOS users especially iPhone 6 users getting strange 4013 and 4014 error in iTunes when they try to update their device to latest iOS versions of iOS 8 or iOS 7.

Fix 1: Change the USB port

Use original USB cable and change the USB port which connects your Apple iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod).

Fix 2: Install the latest version of iTunes

Make sure you installed the latest version of iTunes app on your computer (Windows or Mac).

Fix 3:  Free up your iOS device space

Sometimes this issue might be happened because of the low device storage space. So remove some unwanted apps and files from your iOS device.

Fix 4:  Update your iOS device to latest iOS version

First, update your Apple iOS device to the latest version.

Fix 5: Restore your Apple Device

  1. Connect your Apple iOS device to computer via USB cable.
  2. Launch iTunes and backup your device.
  3. Close iTunes app and disconnect your device.
    Put your iPhone or iPad in recovery mode.
  4. Open iTunes on Mac or Windows.
  5. Connect your iPhone or iPad to computer via USB cable.  iTunes will show your device in recovery mode.
  6. Restore your device as new. It will erase every data on your phone. Restore data from backup.
